This is an occasional group although we try to go somewhere monthly if possible, whether by bus or sometimes by train (a Senior Railcard helps).

Back by popular request, and hopefully with a seasonal flavour, we will be taking a train trip from Bridgend to Carmarthen on Wednesday, 26th November.

We will meet at Bridgend Station to catch the 09.18 train for Carmarthen (there are options but I've plumped for this one), and we will arrive at 10.53. Those who have taken this trip before will know that the route is scenic from Swansea onwards.

There are a number of trains returning after 2.00pm and I would suggest we catch either the 14.32 or 14.57 which will get us back into Bridgend after 4.00/4.30pm.

Unfortunately there are no concessions on this train journey with just a Bus Pass. Please make sure you purchase an Anytime Day Return as that does not restrict us. The price with a Senior Railcard is £14.45 and without it is £21.70.

You do need to be mobile for this trip - it's a stretch of the legs from the station to the town centre, and it is hilly in places. Once we arrive in Carmarthen you are entirely free to do as you choose, but typically we tend to meander as a group, taking in a bit of history, maybe a bit of shopping, and definitely lunch!
